Inspired by the life of Emilia Bassano, a 16th-century poet who may have been Shakespeare’s “Dark Lady,” Emilia is a bold, passionate, and empowering play about a woman who dared to defy the limits placed upon her. In a world where women’s voices were dismissed and their talents overshadowed, Emilia fought to be heard—and her story still resonates today.

Filled with wit, music, and an all-female cast, Emilia is a celebration of female ambition, creativity, and resistance. This inspiring and entertaining production is perfect for school audiences, sparking discussions on gender, history, and the power of storytelling.
